Ralph Serdahl


Ralph Serdahl, 70, Minot, died Thursday, November 9, 2023 in the Community Living Center at the Fargo VA hospital.

Ralph Duane Serdahl was born on July 5, 1953 in Minot, North Dakota to Ralph and Eloise (Blakely) Serdahl. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1971. Following graduation, Ralph enlisted in the US Navy on June 17, 1971 and served aboard the USS Concord prior to his honorable discharge on April 3, 1974.

Ralph returned to Minot and attended the Trinity School of Nursing for three years prior to enlisting in the Army National Guard. In 1981, he moved to Denver, Colorado where he was employed by the United States Postal Service as a postal clerk for eleven years until 2002. During that time, he lived for one year in California.

Ralph was a member of the American Legion, AmVets, Disabled American Veterans, USO, National Rifle Association and the Dakota Territory Air Museum. He was a member of the Lutheran Faith and enjoyed collecting NASCAR diecast cars, hunting, fishing, and was an avid movie collector.

Ralph is survived by his siblings: Kathy (Jim) Seykora and Wesley Serdahl, all of Minot, and Teri Lynn (John) Arman, Bismarck and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth.

Celebration of the Life of Ralph Serdahl: Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot. A delayed stream of the service will be available starting on Friday by using https://www.mtmsales.net/thomas.

Interment: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan

Visitation: Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to the Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, or the Dakota Territory Air Museum, Minot.
