TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – On the first day of the ASEAN Summit, the Transportation Office recorded 6,699,684 volume of traffic per day. The data was obtained through 49 Sensor Traffic Countings in Jakarta.
“The number lowers by 2.85%, equal to 196,296 vehicles compared to August 8, 2023, which recorded 6,895,980 vehicles per day,” said the Head of Transportation Office Syafrin Liputo in a written statement on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
The volume of traffic at peak hour in the morning of September 5 recorded 1,794,322 vehicles, a decline of 3.59% compared to August 8 which recorded 1,755,254 vehicles on the road.
According to Syafrin, the average volume of traffic at the morning peak hour from 06:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on September 5 amounted to 536,412 vehicles. The vehicles were composed of 412,950 units of two-wheel vehicles or 70.54% of the total vehicles; 109,845 units of four-wheel vehicles or 20.48%; and 10,617 units of heavy vehicles or equal to 1.98%.
Meanwhile, the average volume of traffic at the afternoon peak hour from 04:00 p.m. to 08:00 p.m. on the same day amounted to 526,120 vehicles, declining 7.72% compared to the average volume of traffic on August 8, 2023.
“The vehicles were composed of 410,635 units of two-wheel vehicles or 78.58% of the total vehicles; 106,011 units of four-wheel vehicles or 19.63%; and 9,474 units of heavy vehicles or equal to 1.80%.
The observation deploying the Sensor Traffic Countings is conducted every day, especially since the implementation of the work-from-home policy for 75% of civil servants in anticipation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit.
