Forecasters are warning of a slippery morning commute on Thursday due to snow, sleet, and freezing rain before temperatures warm up later in the day.
A hazardous weather outlook alert was issued on Wednesday, warning of a wintry mix on Thursday morning. The National Weather Service said warmer air and precipitation would bring snow to the area. That snow, though, will change later in the day.
“Some initial snowfall will transition to sleet and freezing rain, and slippery travel is possible early Thursday before a transition to rain and warmer temperatures,” the alert stated.
The NWS also warned of gusty winds of up to 35 mph.
