CONCORD, NH — The Concord School District entered into a purchase and sale agreement for a Warren Street home across the street from Concord High School late last month.
The district, according to minutes from a special board meeting held on Nov. 20, was approached by the landowners offering to sell 127 Warren St. to SAU 8 for $375,000. Two conditions were placed on the sale — a clean title and a commercial phase environmental study. The home, built in 1900, has an assessed value of around $231,000.
Superintendent Kathleen Murphy said the house would be used to expand the Concord Regional Technical Center for welding, Cisco, and cyber security programs.
The proposal, approved by a 6 to 0 vote without any public comment, was to purchase the property and lease it back to the current owners so they could have plenty of time to move out and find other living accommodations.
The funds for the property will be taken from the district’s trust fund, which has around $12 million in its account.
