Concord Man Charged With Attempted Robbery at Local Marshalls

A man with a history of robbery convictions was arrested on charges of attempted robbery and other offenses following an incident at a Marshalls store in October.

Police responded to the Storrs Street location around 7 p.m. on Oct. 25 after receiving a report of an attempted robbery.

The suspect, later identified as Justyn Shaw, 36, allegedly demanded money at the register, threatening a clerk and causing a disturbance before fleeing the scene.

According to the affidavit, Shaw, who is described as homeless and currently residing in Concord, was located near the clock tower on North Main Street close to Eagle Square.

Officers stated that Shaw admitted to the attempted robbery during his arrest.

During interrogation after being read his Miranda rights, Shaw reportedly confessed to the attempted robbery and his intentions to harm the employees and customers at Marshalls.

He was also accused of admitting to leaving personal items in the store’s restroom, which were later recovered by police.

Shaw was charged with attempted robbery, criminal threatening, criminal mischief, and two counts of attempted simple assault.

He was arraigned in Merrimack County Superior Court on Oct. 26 and held on preventative detention, with a dispositional conference hearing set for Dec. 21.
