Concord police searched farmland behind Loudon Road as well as the riverbank of the Merrimack River for a missing vulnerable elderly man with dementia who has been missing since last week.
David M. Peistrup, 84, was last seen on Rex Drive Friday evening. He was driving a red Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. Peistrup is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with gray hair and brown eyes.
The New Hampshire State Police issued a vulnerable adult alert, and Concord police have issued updates asking people to keep an eye out for Peistrup and the pickup truck.
On Wednesday, around 8:30 p.m., dispatch sent officers to the farmland behind 6 Loudon Road after receiving a report about a red pickup truck seen in the area that might be connected to Peistrup.
Officers showed up and searched the farm. At one point, after swinging around to the Merrimack River side of the farm, the officers were directed by an officer on Interstate 93 north, who was also searching, to check a shiny object on the bank of the river. The officers searched the area but found nothing. They then returned to the parking lot.
One officer told dispatch they spoke to a farmer from Sunfox Farm, the Deerfield company which now leases the land from the city to grow sunflowers for its herbal teas, culinary oils, and herbs and spices business. He told officers he had been at the farm most of the day and had not seen Peistrup or the truck.
Police then cleared the scene.
