Benefit Planned in Concord for Injured Firefighter/Paramedic

Concord Township’s firefighter union is planning an Oct. 22 benefit lunch for Jesse Sopko, a firefighter and paramedic with the South Central Ambulance District in Ashtabula County who was injured in a Sept. 26 crash in Huntsburg Township.

The Browns Tailgate Fundraiser will begin at noon and run until the end of that afternoon’s game between the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts, according to a Sept. 28 union Facebook post. It will take place at Redhawk Grille, 7481 Auburn Road in Concord Township.

The event will include a 50/50 raffle, baskets and squares for the game, the post added. Sopko’s family will receive the proceeds.

Donations will be accepted at the event, through the “Paramedic Jesse Sopko Support” GoFundMe page or through a Venmo QR code attached to the Facebook post.
